Confirming your reservation
We require prepayment on any one -night reservations and a 33% deposit on longer stays, The balance of your stay is due at check-in.
Canceling your reservation
A refund of your deposit, less a $35 cancellation fee per room, will be gladly given if you cancel or change a reservation 14 days or more prior to arrival date.
Deposits are not refundable if you cancel or change a reservation with less than 14 days notice. Sorry no refunds upon early departures.
Extra person charges
The extra person charge is $20 per person per night based on double occupancy, maximum 4 people in rooms with 2 beds, maximum 2 adults + 1 child in rooms with 1 bed. Infants 2 and under are free and should not be included in the guest count.
Pool and Facility Policy
Registered guests may enjoy the pool and barbecue area during office hours. Glass and coolers are restricted from the pool area. Unregistered guests are restricted from the property unless prior arrangements are made with the front desk.
Each room has one assigned free parking space for a vehicle. Additional parking is available when arranged with the front desk.
All rooms at the inn are non smoking. Guests may smoke outside where we have provided receptacles. Please be advised that when there is evidence that smoking occured in a guest room, a detailed cleaning and ozoning fee of $150 will be applied to your room or charged after departure.

In light of recent public health concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like you to know that at Handkerchief Shoals Inn, guest health, safety and comfort is our first priority, as reflected in our protocol for exceptional cleanliness of our rooms.We take great pride in our clean and well-run business supported by outstanding customer service in a hospitality setting designed for your enjoyment of individual space, comfort and privacy.
To respect your space and enable social distancing, we offer a new streamlined procedure that facilitates your check-in without the need to visit our office, as well as ample parking that allows you direct access to your own private room with private bath. For your convenience, all of our rooms have a mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.
Our handy Comfort Zone is stocked with a variety of snacks and beverages. It will have limited access and require a face mask. Our complimentary coffee bar, ice machine and grill use will depend on the local health requirements. Our seasonal swimming pool is serviced, treated and inspected by certified professionals.
Along with social distancing, maintaining a clean environment is one of the most important preventive measures against transmission: frequently touched surfaces are cleaned and sanitized between reservations with products based on CDC guidance and manufacturers' suggested uses for those products.
All our linen is cleaned and pressed by a commercial laundry service based on CDC guidelines for clean and sanitized laundry.
We are supplied, staffed and trained for deep cleaning, and our checks are rigorous. In turn, we request that guests collaborate in this mutual effort by respecting the check-in and check-out times so that these procedures are not rushed.
